Thanks for writing this Shannon. I remember a time when I’d just read Girl Wash Your Face, was in an MLM company, and ran around telling everyone how wonderful Rachel Hollis was. Her brand serves a purpose but I left it behind a while back – it might have been the plagiarism stuff, or just what you’ve said here about the disingenuity and holding readers up to higher standards. I was also in the #MadeforMore FB group, or maybe still am, but there are a huge amount of women looking up to Rachel and it’s kind of heartbreaking.
