Hi Chris thank you for your comment and I appreciate the feedback, it’s really valuable. I’m torn though — on the one hand I love to write a really well researched piece (though this really isn’t it, as you point out!), and on the other, I want to believe (or to know) that my opinions and thought processes are valid on their own merit and that I don’t need the stats, or someone else’s quotes to back it up. So this post, for me, is probably more about exercising the courage it takes to write (and publish)… But I do value your comments — and I may even write a more formal version for myself, and for those that like evidence… ;)
